Lead with Purpose
A full calendar does not always mean meaningful progress. Leaders can spend an entire week answering requests and still struggle to name the work that mattered most. Purpose gives everyday decisions a point of reference.
Begin with a simple question: What should be better because I am leading here? Your answer might involve developing people, serving customers, strengthening a family, or helping an organization fulfill its mission. Make it specific enough to guide a choice.
Then compare that purpose with your calendar. Look for one activity that deserves more attention and one commitment that no longer fits. Some responsibilities cannot be removed, but you can often change how you approach them or ask for help.
Share your priority with the people affected by it. Explain what you are working toward and how their contributions matter. When the week ends, review what actually moved forward and choose your next step.
Try this week
Write one sentence beginning, “This week, my leadership should help…” Then schedule one action that supports it.
